Se entregaron los premios de la Academia en su edición 87.
En una ceremonia muy musical, con pocas sorpresas y con una aparición apenas destacable de Neil Patrick Harris como el presentador de la gala, la película ‘Birdman’ fue la gran ganadora de la noche al llevarse los premios a la mejor película y mejor director, con 4 Oscars en total.
Por segundo año consecutivo un mexicano ganó el premio al mejor director, el año pasado Alfonso Cuarón lo ganó por ‘Gravity’, mientras que el fotógrafo también mexicano, Emmanuel Lubeski, lo ganó también por segundo año consecutivo.
Eddie Redmayne, y Julianne Moore, ganaron como mejor actor y mejor actriz protagónico. Patricia Arquette y J.K. Simmons como mejores actores de reparto.
El gran hotel Budapest, de Wes Anderson, también acumuló un total de 4 estatuillas.
